We are hosting a Makers Market on Saturday, November 30thto celebrate the 10thannual Small Business Saturday.

Our market, which will be located in our purpose-built showroom and workshop on 1315 Ottis Street, Springfield, 62703, will feature local independent artisans, Just the Basics cocktail bar, and a children’s make and take workshop.

We really hope that people will come out, the weekend after Thanksgiving, and support our local makers and small independent businesses.

Sam Madonia and the Springfield AM crew will be broadcasting live from Sangamon Reclaimed the day of the market, which takes place from 8am to 4pm.

Sangamon Reclaimed founder and president Local First Springfield Annual Awards 2019 judge

I had the pleasure of judging this year’s Local First Springfield Annual Awards alongside Paula Ryan of Ryan Homes and Paula Ryan Design and longtime Local First member Lashonda Fitch

Having received the Emerging and Energized Award at the inaugural event in 2018 I was excited to play my part in the judging process this year. What an amazing membership Local First Springfield has! The level of entries was quite astounding. There are companies out there making a positive impact on our economy, on the community, and encouraging people to support local! With so much competition it was certainly not an easy task to choose the 2019 winners.

I can’t wait to celebrate with this year’s nominees and winners on Thursday, September 12 at Springfield Electric Lighting & Design.
